ConSpec - A Formal Language for Policy Specification
1 Introduction As mobile devices become increasingly popular, the problem of secure mobile application development gains importance. Mobile devices contain personal information, which users wish to protect. They also provide access to costly functionality, such as GSM services and GPRS connections. It is necessary to provide controlled access to the sensitive resources through fine-grained, at ...
متن کاملConSpec – a formal language for policy specification 1
The paper presents ConSpec, an automata based policy specification language. The language trades off clean semantics to language expressiveness; a formal semantics for the language is provided as security automata. ConSpec specifications can be used at different stages of the application lifecycle, rendering possible the formalization of various policy enforcement techniques.
متن کاملA Formal Language for Model Transformation Specification
Model transformation and its automation have been the core and major challenge of MDA; consequently OMG issued a QVT RFP to standardize its process. Though many approaches have been proposed, their efficiency cannot be validated and their application scope is still limited. The task of providing a reliable solution to model transformation is critical. This paper proposes a formal language for m...
متن کاملFormal specification of a reaction policy
The tasks a system administrator must fullfil become more and more complex as information systems increase in complexity and connectivity. More specifically, the problem of the expression and update of security requirements is central. Formal models designed to express security policies have proved to be necessary since they provide non ambiguous semantics to analyze them. However such models a...
متن کاملA Formal Policy Specification Language for an 802.11 WLAN with Enhanced Security Network
In Wide Area Networks (WANs)inconsistencies among the security policies of Administrative Domains (ADs) may cause severe security flaws. Recently, security policies are written in natural language and as they get more complicated, even for an expert it might be impossible to detect such inconsistencies. However, when a formal language is used, it might be possible to make verification of securi...
